Search against the real list
Clinicians get frustrated when they complete paperwork for a program that will not accept their credential. Quote the current handbook line in your first email. Students commonly need to start searching well before the application window closes, confirm that the preceptor meets the course-specific list, and complete whatever electronic application the university currently uses. Some sites will not assign a preceptor until an affiliation step is finished—ask your field office how to handle that sequence.
